We are putting together a UCI Men Rowing Team’s 50th Anniversary book. It will cover the past 50 years of the team in photos and essays. If you have photos you would like to contribute to the book, we would love to have them. We are looking for candid photos, team photos, artsy rowing photos – whatever you may have. You may scan and email them to info@ucirowing.org or if you need to mail them, let us know and we can work that out. Please identify the year and the people in the pictures the best you can.
We are also looking for short rowing stories/memories. Please send us a couple paragraphs about a particular memory or event that resonates with you or a moment in UCI rowing history. We will select a number of these little essays to be put in the book. Think of amazing race stories, memories of fun times with teammates, struggles overcome, unique moments, how you earned your nickname, or lessons learned. We would also love words about the skills you learned from rowing at UCI that you were able to translate to life after college.
When you send photos or stories, please include your name, email and phone number so we can contact you with any questions. We look forward to having your memories be part of our commemorative history book.
Details regarding publication of the book will be forthcoming. We will collect advance orders and the book will be published in the summer so we may include memories from 2014/2015 in it.
