CHIEF OF STEWARDS REPORT Mestre gives report on UCI Rowing cash flow, including how much FoUCIR provides, what the endowments provide, what the university provides, etc. Item 3. BOARD ELECTION CYCLE Consider and possibly adopt one of the following options: Option 1: Re-elect full board to 3-year terms starting now, lasting to September 2021. Option 2: Develop staggered terms and present by next meeting. CLOSED SESSION The board will go into closed session to discuss the coach’s job description, salary and related matters. COACH’S REPORT Coach Brooks reports back on fundraising and a draft budget. BOARD CALENDAR AMENDMENTS (Attachment 2) Approve or amend the revised calendar, which locks in Nov. 18 and Dec. 16 for upcoming meetings. In addition, decide on one of the following dates and locations for the physical meeting scheduled for March: March 2 in Newport Beach, to coincide with UC Challenge Cup March 9 in Los Angeles, to coincide with UCLA Classic NOMINATING COMMITTEE Volunteers for the subcommittee on new board members? INFO SESSION ON FUNDRAISING Fundraising staff from KPCC (Southern California Public Radio) can meet with us for lunch in Los Angeles or by phone or video conference to share their insight and knowledge of fundraising strategies for small donors and major gifts. Long Beach Pancake Regatta

Cheer on the Women's Crew in Long Beach this Fall! Known to the locals as the “Pancake Regatta”,  The Naples Island College Rowing Challenge, or NICRC for short, is an annual regatta hosted by the Beach Crew Alumni Association. The NICRC’s main race is the 4400m head race around the Naples Island, which is then followed by the 850m Novice Sprints. The prize for winning the regatta is the perpetual Queen Mary Trophy and is awarded to the team with the most cumulative points.

Head of the Lagoon – 2018

Redwood Scullers/Stanford Rowing Center 500 DISCOVERY PKWY, REDWOOD CITY, CA, United States

Head of the Lagoon was started by a group of master rowers including Ron Hudson and Daryl Winter. It was named after the Monster from the Blue Lagoon movie, and was initially a one day regatta. HOTL has now grown to a two day regatta, hosting junior, collegiate, open, and master teams. This is a gently curving course through the Foster City Lagoon, which is carefully buoyed every year. It is free of currents and powerboats, making this regatta an interesting and competitive race.   If you are in Newport Beach this morning come out to Lido Bridge and support the Men's and Women's crews by yelling at the top of your lungs! GO IRVINE! The crew will take on Orange Coast College, Long Beach State, UC Santa Barbara for a timed chase around Lido Island.

Bollona Creek Grand Prix – 2018

The Varsity and Novice Men's Crews will participate in UCLA's fall head race this year. Boats start in Ballona Creek and finish in the Marina by the LMU boathouse. Parking will be at Dock 52 (located on Fiji Way just west of Admiralty Way), and shuttles will be provided to drive you to the boathouse.
